A classic Slingerland COB snare from the early 70's (the shell shows the three lines around the middle)
Gene Krupa Sound King Model. This model was made between the years of 1963-1977
10 lugs
6.5"x14" (6.5 depth, 14" diameter)
All original hardware in fair-good condition with some rust accumulation in some areas of the stick saver hoops and the Zoo-Matic strainer. The badge is slightly lifted, but still firmly attached.
There's a visible dent on the left bottom side from the badge. It's small but still needed to be mentioned. This is a players snare, not a collectors item. Nevertheless the classic Slingerland sound is there. Please refer to the video to have an idea. It sounds much better in person though.
The drum is missing hal of the muffler. The hook and the felt pad are there. You just need the round knob to complete it.
These are the "sleepers" people in the know have been talking about during the last years, It is just amazing that such a thin walled shell can produce such a warm an resonant sound.
You want a brass shelled drum but dont want to loose and arm and a leg? Here's your chance to grab a classic drum with the Krupa name on it and the Slingerland heritage we vintage drum lovers have come to appreciate.
